This guide will explain how to download and install the USF VPN Client for Windows. If you prefer a video version of this guide, please watch our VPN video guides. If you're encountering problems using VPN, please see our VPN Troubleshooting page.
First, start to download the USF VPN Client. When the download dialog box appears, please choose to Save it to disk, and choose the Desktop as the location to save it in.

Note: For Windows NT, 2000 or XP you will need "administrator" privileges to install this software.
To begin the installation, please run the extractable setup file, usfvpn.exe.

Note: For this version of the VPN client, the default path, C:\TEMP, should not be changed.
The file will ask you to confirm an extraction of files to the directory C:\TEMP. Click Extract to start extracting the setup file.

This extraction will also ask if you want to launch C:\temp\setup.exe, to which you may answer Yes to start the VPN installation.

The first setup screen welcomes you to the USF VPN Client installation wizard. You may click Next to continue.

Next, you will be asked to read the terms of agreement. Please take a moment to read these terms before agreeing to these terms, and therefore proceeding with the installation, by clicking Yes.

The wizard will now ask you to choose an installation path. Click Next to copy these files to the default, selected location. If you prefer, you may click Browse to place the program files in a different directory.

Following the selection of the installation directory, is the selection of which group you want to place your shortcut icons in. A default group, University of South Florida VPN Client is selected by default. If you prefer, you may rename this group or choose a different group to place your icons in. Click Next to begin the completion of the VPN setup wizard.

The setup wizard will now copy the files needed for the VPN Client to your computer and install any adapters that may be needed. Once this process is done, the wizard will complete and ask you if you want to restart the computer, to which you select Yes... and click Finish to start using the VPN Client.
