What is the purpose of a NetID?

The primary purpose of the USF NetID is to provide students with access to services such as the following:

Other USF Web sites and online services will use the NetID in the future. Just remember that you can use this user name and password wherever you see NetID in a login window.

See how to create your NetID with our NetID video guides!

What services can I access through the University Network Access (UNA) site?

How does a new student get a USF e-mail account?

All students registered with, and taking courses at USF are entitled to an e-mail account and NetID from Academic Computing. After creating an e-mail and NetID account, students may use the University Network Access (UNA) Web site to manage NetID and student e-mail account account settings. Students may also view and compose their e-mail messages through WebMail, our online e-mail portal.

I forgot my password, what do I do?

There is no way for anyone to "look up" your password. If you forgot your NetID or student e-mail account password, you will need go to the University Network Access site and click Did you forget your password?

If you would just like to change your password, please see the Changing Your Password guide or watch our NetID video guides!

Notes

It should be understood that the password you use to access your student e-mail account will always be the same as your NetID password. If a password change is made to one of them it will automatically change the other. However, this will not affect any computer accounts outside the NetID and student e-mail account system.

To reset a password for an account that's not from Academic Computing, you must contact the computing support group for the department which provies that account.
